Welcome to ALLASTRIA and the FANTASY WORLD she resides in...
The year is Tae 4329, more than four thousand years since the divine immortals walked the mortal realm. After the Apocalypse in Mer 9897 and the Divine Oath, the immortals surrendered their mortal shells and pledged never to walk the earth again. Their worshippers - mortals, half-mortals, massive monsters of land, sky and sea, and mystical creatures of this realm and beyond, remain - to survive, thrive and maintain a balance and harmony of life, death and rebirth across this Mortal Isle, renamed as Mortalissar.
In the old tongue, the world was once called Mer Taelysae, which meant either of two destinies - My True Self or My Tormented Soul. It is neither a blessing nor a curse to know one's destiny for sure; neither is there certainty that destiny is a given right from birth - for the world too has her destiny to make, this time, without the immortals around.
Within Mortalissar, right at the north-eastern edge of her gigantic landmass, lies Allastria - the smallest kingdom among all of the territories, monarchies, principalities, kingdoms and empires - and yet, she is built with a tenacious spirit, an undying soul and lifted by her peoples' heart, enough that she can change the world.
Allastria, which began as an unproduced screenplay, and then later, adapted into a fantasy novel (currently making its rounds to get represented and published), prompted the creation of this website. If you look closely at the map at the end of the page here, you'll actually see two faces - one pensive and looking far while the other drowning in sorrow - a theme that's essential to what Allastria the novel is about.
Meanwhile, have fun exploring the site, just as much as I've had fun creating it. Do check out the characters and world sections, as I continuously add interesting content, back-stories and even short fiction stories from different parts of Allastria's fantasy world. Hopefully, they keep you engaged and inform on your experience in learning the histories and realms of Allastria and Mortalissar.
As much as time and history wrap their dust-worn tendrils over our insignificant lives within the speck of the ages, so it is that the world's heart and soul stoke the frigid cold hearths of our homes and spirits in the milestones of our existence. The journey of the living is but a path of destinies, but the journey of the dead is all nothing but dread and despair.
